Sheree Whitfield Loses Aston Martin to her Divorce Lawyer

One of the stars of Real Housewives of Atlanta, Sheree Whitfield apparently forgot to pay her divorce lawyer, and is now paying dearly. Owing her divorce lawyer fees to the tune of around $110,000 Sheree has had her Aston Martin repossessed. The local sheriff’s department arrived at Sheree’s door to seize the Aston Martin, after she failed to make a single payment on her legal debt. Maintaining her aloof rich woman attitude Sheeree told TMZ reporters that this embarrassing ordeal and the judgment against her were unfair, but “It’s okay, it’s a car, I’ll get another one.” Sheree was known on the Housewives reality show for showing people what “black folk rich” is all about. Well apparently it includes driving an Aston Martin when you can’t afford to pay your divorce lawyer. Then again, if she doesn’t have money to pay her divorce lawyer maybe he didn’t get her enough money from her millionaire ex-husband in the settlement. Maybe Sheree has learned something from this and will spend less on “just a car” so that she can pay her bills. The Real Housewives series of reality shows has shown middle class America a great deal of marital turmoil, separation, and…

Usher and Tameka Divorced Friends

How often do you see a divorced superstar couple that remains friends? Well after the smoke cleared and the divorce lawyers stepped out of the picture R&B singer Usher and his ex-wife Tameka Foster are apparently, friends. Actually Usher says that their friendship has gotten better since the divorce because each person knows where they stand and the pressures of his super stardom and career aren’t coming between them. All women know it’s hard to come in second to anything in your husband’s life, but to be pushed to the bottom of the totem pole as he deals with a busy career, touring the world, headlining the tabloids and constantly being available to what seems to be hundreds of people daily that are more important than you, it’s easy to see how the bloom faded off the rose that was Usher’s marriage. The couple was married in 2007 and by the time Usher filed for divorce last year they had been living separately for a year. The two of them have two children. Lucky for the kids their parents are able to behave as adults despite the divorce and work together to make smart decisions and an effort to remain…

Christina Milian and The Dream Settle on Divorce Terms

Pop singer Christina Milian is soon to be the ex-wife of producer “The Dream”, reportedly the couple has agreed to a settlement on the terms of the divorce. Sources close to the couple reveal that the term of the settlement are confidential, but now that the settlement has been agreed upon all that is left is for the divorce lawyers to submit the paperwork to a judge. Divorce lawyers come in handy when it comes to explaining settlements and arrangements to the public. Ms. Milian’s divorce attorney has issued a statement to TMZ.com stating “Ms. Milian strongly believes that a peaceful resolution is better for their child and that she is very pleased with the settlement and that it was accomplished out of court.” Both spouses are under the age of 30 and have been married since 2009 however The Dream filed for divorce just a few days before Christina gave birth to their child. Celebrity divorces are common place these days and hardly rate more than a mention in the tabloids unless the couples have problems reaching a settlement or cause paparazzi media feasts that publicize the intimate details. Two responsible and apparently considerate parents who have chosen to…

Children of Divorce more likely to suffer from Depression

Studies show that seven out of ten American children are living in “non-traditional” families, whether this includes being born to unmarried parents, teenage mothers, or the breakup of the family due to divorce. This is leading to some sobering statistics concerning the next generation. Studies and research concerning children of divorce have been ongoing for many years now and the conclusion has been reached that children of divorce are more likely to suffer from depression than children who live in two parent homes and the chances of developing chemical dependency at a young age is also more likely in children in single parent families. These sound like judgmental statement, but the fact is that these are the facts. This is not opinion, this is the result and findings of many different studies into the way that American families function when both parents are in the home, when babies are born to teen parents and when raised in a single parent home or after a divorce occurs. The numbers don’t lie, and while some children who have parents who actively co-parent may not have these problems many children don’t have that sort of situation and end up becoming a statistic. Statistics…
