Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman Reach Divorce Settlement

According to TMZ, Christina Aguilera and soon-to-be ex-husband Jordan Bratman have reached a divorce settlement agreement. The couple filed for divorce months ago citing irreconcilable differences after a five-year marriage. Aguilera and Bratman have one minor child together, son Max.

The documents submitted by Bratman show couple signed settlement documents that will allow the courts to grant a divorce. The documents reveal the pair came to an agreement over the distribution of their property and finances. The couple amicably agreed to a custody arrangement for their son, even though Aguilera’s original filing requested joint legal and physical custody. The key difference between Bratman and Aguilera’s filings is that Bratman listed date of separation as “TBD,” while Aguilera chose 9/11/2010.

To add more drama to this celebrity divorce, Bratman reportedly dragged his feet and stalled the courts while Aguilera moved on with her personal life. Aguilera reportedly started dating Matthew Rutler, who awkwardly enough moved into the couple’s Beverly Hills home as Bratman refused to move out and is reportedly living in the same house.

Hopefully this step brings Aguilera closer to finalizing her divorce from Bratman, as she appears to be moving on with her life without a desire to reconcile. Aguilera found herself in bad press recently after Super Bowl XLV, due to her national anthem goof up in front of a live audience. Aguilera skipped an entire verse of the national anthem and changed up words on a different verse. TV shows and magazines cried foul while some fans found it offensive. Aguilera apologized for the goof up, stating she was only caught in the moment and lost track.
