Sheen and Mueller Reach Final Divorce Agreement

According to Reuters, Charlie Sheen and his third wife, Brooke Mueller, have agreed to the terms to finalize their much-publicized divorce. The stormy marriage, with allegations of alcohol and drug abuse, ended after a dispute on Christmas Day 2009.

The divorce settlement, which cannot finalize before May, revealed that Mueller would gain primary physical custody’s of the couple’s twin sons, Max and Bob. Sheen will pay child support of $55,000 a month for the two-year old twins. Mueller will not receive ongoing spousal support but will receive a lump sum of more than $757,000 from Sheen, plus $1.25 of her share of the couple’s home. Sheen will remain in the home.

Sheen and Mueller’s divorce agreement filed with the court states child support for the couple’s children will not fall below the sum he pays to his second ex-wife, Denise Richards, for their two daughters. Sheen and Richards split up in 2006.

Sheen filed for divorce from Mueller on November 1, almost a year after the couple’s violent incident in Aspen, Colorado. Mueller called the police on Sheen, alleging the actor pinned her down on the bed and held a knife to her throat. Mueller also alleged Sheen threatened to have her killed. Sheen denied having a knife but did plead guilty to assault, receiving probation and a 30-day sting in rehab for drugs and alcohol.

It is expected for Sheen and Mueller’s divorce decree to become final on May 2, per California law. The law requires a six-month waiting period after documents to dissolution of marriage are filed with the court.
