Pete Wentz Agrees to Spousal Support in Divorce Documents

According to Access Hollywood, Ashlee Simpson filed for divorce from Pete Wentz, her husband of two-years, citing irreconcilable differences. Wentz went on record to the media stating that he did not want to divorce but the couple’s friends suggested the two may have grown apart and that getting married young had something to do with their unhappiness.

Pete Wentz responded to his wife’s divorce filing by submitting his own court documents. Wentz is asking the court to award the couple joint custody of their 2-year-old son, Bronx Mowgli. Wentz cited irreconcilable differences as reason for their split but checked the box for joint legal and physical custody of their child.

Simpson had asked the court to grant her primary physical custody of Bronx, with Wentz having visitation rights. Simpson also asked for spousal support and for attorney fees. Simpson wants her legal name changed from Ashlee Simpson-Wentz to Ashlee Simpson.

Pete Wentz agreed to pay his estranged wife spousal support but wants joint custody of the toddler. Simpson’s career took a break during their marriage, as she mostly spent her time being a mom. Wentz reportedly made more money during the couple’s brief marriage, but will agree to support his estranged wife, at least until her career is back on track.

The couple’s family and friends are hoping for a reconciliation, with sources claiming that the pair get along great and are great parents to Bronx.
