Eva Longoria’s Self-Identity Journey After Divorce

According to Monsters and Critics, something good did come out of Eva Longoria’s divorce from Tony Parker – the actress was able to find herself. The journey to self-discovery was necessary, says Longoria, as she had invested so much in identifying herself as a wife, that at first she had no idea who she truly was. Longoria says after she married the San Antonio Spurs basketball player in 2007 she felt at home with her wifey role, but now she is enjoying life as a single lady.
Longoria said her domestic side connected her strongly with being a wife, and she is now back to finding herself again outside of somebody else. While it’s been challenging, she’s also managed to have fun.
The actress has had success as a single lady, while managing to keep her domestic side. Longoria has launched several successful projects since her divorce including a renewal of the Desperate Housewives for season 8. Additionally, her cookbook Eva’s Kitchen is finally on the market.
She says she’s always had a passion for cooking, enjoying preparing meals for friends and family. She finds inspiration in international cuisine and childhood experiences from growing up on a ranch outside Corpus Christi, Texas. Besides career projects, Longoria’s found time to further her philanthropic efforts after her divorce, she’s launched Eva’s Heroes and has been awarded the 2009 Philanthropist of The Year award by the Hollywood Reporter. While divorce is always painful, Longoria has managed to turn her personal sadness into a flourishing career.
