According to TMZ, Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss had finalized her divorce from Saturday Night Live’s funnyman Fred Armisen. The couple married in October 2009 but separated only eight months later. Moss filed for divorce with the help of her divorce lawyer and listed irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
Moss listed in her Los Angeles court papers the date of separation as just eight months after the couple married. Neither party was seeking spousal support and it was unclear if the couple had a premarital agreement. A source told a celebrity magazine that the couple had conflicting work schedules and long-distance that contributed to their split. According to some sources, Moss’ commitment to her Scientology beliefs may have been a road block.
Armisen is primarily based in New York, where he tapes Saturday Night Live‘s popular characters such as President Barack Obama and New York Governor David Paterson, and Moss films Mad Men in Los Angeles. The couple met in 2008 when Moss made a cameo appearance on Saturday Night Live which was hosted by her Mad Men co-star Jon Hamm.
It was the first marriage for Moss and second for Armisen, who was previously married to English singer Sally Timms. Armisen and Timms divorced in 2004.
