Olivia Wilde Divorces Italian Prince, Enjoys Being Single

Known as Maxim’s “Hottest Woman Alive” in 2009 and for her starring roles in “Tron: Legacy” and the Fox series “House,” actress Olivia Wilde married an Italian prince when she was just 19 years old in 2003. Now at 27, Wilde split from her husband Tao Ruspoli earlier in the year in February. The break up has been difficult for Wilde, but she credits it with improving her acting and making her a better person.

In an interview, Wilde described the divorce process as “humbling,” but was optimistic about coming out of the experience a better person. Because she married at a young age and spent most of her twenties married, she commented that she was a bit of a “case of arrested development.” Newly single, she looks forward to being able to spend time by herself and improve on her independence.

The crew on “House” seems to think the experience has improved her acting, at least. The show’s creator said that Wilde she get divorced more often, as her acting abilities have benefited from what the divorce has taught her about people and relationships. Tabloids have linked Wilde to other celebrities like Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds and Justin Timberlake, but Wilde noted that a single date does not qualify as a serious relationship.
