Prime Time Deion Sanders Thinks Wife is Too Famous

Never one to mince his words, NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders wants a divorce because his wife has become too famous. This is a direct quote from Sanders’s divorce filing: “Enough is enough. I never signed up for all this. Enough is enough. If I wanted a model or a television star I would have married one a long time ago. All I wanted was a housewife.”

This will be the second divorce for Sanders, who had two children with his first wife, Carolyn Chambers. Sanders’s second wife – Pilar Biggers – is the one who became “too famous.” He has three children with her. Sanders’s comments that Pilar became too famous for him are somewhat ironic given that Pilar was a model and actress in 1999 when the two got married. She appeared on “Walker, Texas Ranger” and “The Jamie Foxx Show,” amongst other roles.

Pilar’s fame has grown recently, though, as a result of her role on a reality TV show. Pilar appears on the show “Deion & Pilar: Prime Time Love,” which has chronicled the couple’s relationship since 2008. The two live in Prosper, Texas, with Deion continuing his work as an NFL analyst.

A spouse becoming too famous is not a divorce reason we often hear, but it does seem to be an underlying cause for many reality show-based relationship troubles. The fame and attention that comes from appearing on successful shows seems to catch couples off guard. Perhaps in the future, couples may wish to consider which is worth more to them: their relationship or their 15 minutes of fame.
